The Swedish entertainment service Voddler has appointed Patrick Ståhle as a new member of the board of directors.

Patrick Ståhle, who has considerable experience of the media sector and who was most recently the chairman and CEO of Singapore-based Aegis Media APAC (part of Aegis Plc – a company noted on the London Stock Exchange), has been appointed member of the board of directors for Voddler Group AB.

- “We are very pleased that Patrick, who has been a shareholder from the very start, has joined our board. He will add valuable competence thanks to his considerable international experience,” says Jan Söderberg, Voddler’s main owner and chairman of the board.
Apart from his previous engagement at Aegis Media, Patrick Ståhle has also been CEO of Aegis Media Nordic and Canal+ Nordic.

The new player includes the following new features:

• Performance enhancements - If you have experienced choppy playback or soaring CPU-loads this will ease you burden. We have added the possibility to variable set the playback quality in the new setting option in the new Voddler player.

• New control panel - In this release we have added a new control panel where you easily can change your settings, fast forward, change volume and minimize/maximize the window.

• Toggle window - You can now minimize or switch window during the commercials break if you need to e.g. check you email. The commercial will be paused.

• Usability enhancement - We have added keyboard shortcuts to the new player so you can for example press "F" to switch to full screen mode. Read more on www.voddler.com/help.

• Subtitle enhancement - You can now save your default language setting between your movie-sessions. The setting will become default for all future playbacks.

• Desktop client - We have also decided to take a more web-centric approach. The old desktop client is removed while we evaluate potential alternatives. Instead we recommend you to browse our new website, www.voddler.com, and start any movie by clicking the Play-button. Check it out right now!

Den svenska underhållningstjänsten Voddler presenterar idag ett avtal med Telenor i Danmark. Voddler och Telenor kommer under våren genomföra en omfattande dansk mediesatsning för att gemensamt lansera Voddler för den danska publiken.

- Vi är glada över att kunna lansera Voddler i Danmark tillsammans med Telenor som under våren kommer genomföra en aggressiv profileringskampanj. Vi bygger världens bästa lagliga gratistjänst som nu även våra danska grannar får ta del av, säger Mathias Tönnesson, expansionschef Voddler.

Telenor Danmark är en av Danmark största telekomoperatörer med över 2 miljoner danska kunder.

The Swedish entertainment service Voddler today presents a movie agreement with television distributor BBC Worldwide. A large number of new TV, documentary and movie titles will now be available via Voddler.

BBC Worldwide content is much sought after in Scandinavia, excellent drama such as Spooks and Waking the Dead will ensure excellent entertainment from our British friends.
