Pulp novelist Holly Martins travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, black-market opportunist Harry Lime. Graham Greene wrote the script, Carol Reed directed, Anton Karas wrote the haunting soundtrack. This movie from 1950 is still ranked by almost all critics as one of cinema's masterpieces, particularly remembered for its atmospheric cinematography, and unique musical score. Not to mention the performances by Joseph Cotten and Orson Welles.

Worth seeing, I'd definitely put it up as a classic amongst the category with thrillers from the past. 2
