First, a quick note: the description for the film is slightly misleading, as nowhere is it mentioned that Germany won the war. The reason for England becoming a fascist dictatorship is actually quite adequately explained within the film itself. I assume the person that wrote the Voddler blurb didn't bother watching it to the end, or maybe misunderstood it. ;)

The film itself is, in my opinion, brilliant, both from an acting and photography point of view. Weaving, Portman and Hurt (not to mention Fry) portray some strong and engaging characters.

As Epeemaster mentioned, an interesting reflection on society, especially in view of what is happening to individual liberties in, not only the USA, which everyone likes to go on about, but increasingly elsewhere also.

Overall, well worth watching, 5/5.

One of the best films ever made. It is a film for reflexion over our own society. See it and compare to the world.
