HE'S SUCH A GIRL is a coming of age story about a straight guy who acts like a stereotypical girl when it comes to relationships. Whitney Brown grows overly attached to his girlfriend of four years when his father dies of a sudden heart attack. His mother handles her grief by running away. An only child, Whitney finds himself alone in the world and latches onto the only thing left, his girlfriend Taylor.
But Taylor has issues of her own and is not as committed to their relationship. Her ambivalence only makes Whitney try harder. He seeks advice from all the wrong people, making one mistake after another in his efforts to keep her. Compounding the problem, Whitney's roommate and friend, Aldo, undercuts him at every turn because he too is in love with Taylor.
Add to this an overbearing boss, who hired Whitney to market feminine hygiene products because his androgynous name led her to believe Whitney was a girl, and Taylor's overprotective parents, who have their own ideas about relationships, and soon enough Whitney is not only struggling to keep his girlfriend, but also his job, his place to live, and his sanity.
Through it all Whitney learns that life is full of curves and that taking chances is sometimes just as important as playing it safe.
