Veteran police officer Dave Brown, the last of the renegade cops, struggles to take care of his family, and fights for his own survival. From a screenplay by James Ellroy ("L.A. Confidential") and director Oren Moverman (Oscar-nominated "The Messenger"), comes Rampart. Veteran police officer Dave Brown (Woody Harrelson), dedicated to doing "the people's dirty work" and asserting his own code of justice, is the last of the renegade cops in the LAPD. If you are looking for a thrilling police film then this is not it. Do not expect action. This is a very good drama though. Exelent acting, some fantastic scenes and a couple of lines that deserve to become classic. Harrelsons portrait of hardened lawbending cop in a down spiral is both touching and convincing and I really like how some peripheral characters and extras are given the space to act out brilliantly (my favorite, the girl in the drugstore scene).
