Are you one of those people looking to convert your hobby into a high-paying job? The advent of the internet has ensured that making money from hitherto unknown sources is no longer a miracle.

Still, be it startups or big companies, the tech world has stuck to creating traditional jobs. Within the same old jobs, though, a large number of different scenarios have emerged. Who would have thought that there would be a position called ‘game tester’ in a company?

From the coder to the creator, in the list below you will find the best careers to look out for in the gaming industry. Let’s face right into it, then.

1. Game Designer –

A game designer is arguably the most important cog in the wheel of game development. It is the designer who first conceptualizes the game (in coordination with the people responsible for market research). Thereafter, they formulate the nitty-gritty of the game including the theme, rules, situations, characters, and the story.

Once the concepts are clear, the game designer works with the developers and other crucial team members to convert them into reality. Thus, a game designer by virtue of his role in the company also gets heavily compensated.

2. Content Developer –

Content is king. This is true even in the world of gaming. A game with interesting themes and well-written characters is sure to do well. While a game designer looks at the bigger picture, the content developer ensures that the vision can be actualized.

In respect of gaming, the content developer has to create the story, give a ‘why’ to various situations in the game setting, and give flesh to the bones in respect of the characters. An excellent idea can go to waste if not written with precision.

3. Game Marketing –

A product without marketing may not even exist, more so in the gaming market where advertisements are an integral part of marketing strategy. A marketing professional in a gaming company may have a variety of tasks set out for him, ranging from devising the general strategy to preparing marketing materials.

Further, for online casino games, coming up with offers like ggbet 50 freispiele ohne einzahlung which attract new users is a major aspect of a marketer’s job. Apart from offers and discounts, a marketer also needs to conduct research to identify newer market areas.

4. Game Developer –

A game developer may work behind the scenes but it is their code that translates ideas into action. It is for this reason that game developers are among the highest-paid professionals in the world of gaming.

The developer works with the designer and various other artists like animators to come up with the technical back end of the game. This is the foundation of the game, without which it cannot function.

Creating a game is a complex process that is never-ending. Even after development is complete from their side, they coordinate with game testers to reduce and remove bugs in the code so that players have a smooth experience.

In terms of qualification, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or specifically Game Development is necessary.

5. Game Tester –

For many, playing games throughout the day is a dream. If you are one such person, becoming a game tester is something that you can consider. However, be prepared that the job of a game tester is not easy by any standard.

A game tester has to play the game in a manner that is systematic and not just for his enjoyment. He is given a checklist as a base so that he can test the game in a meaningful manner.

Before a game goes live to the public, the game goes through various rounds of testing which ensures that the game is bug-free. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is recommended but not mandatory.

6. Game Animator –

The designer thinks; that the content team writes it out but it is the visual artist or the game animator who creates the digital world along with all the awesome avatars in a game. Decisions like whether the character has red hair or big fingers may seem trivial but affect the overall look of the game.

Apart from the ones mentioned above, there are many other careers in the gaming industry like the sound designer, game journalist, YouTuber, graphic designer, retailer associate, and DevOps. It must be remembered that just because one is in the gaming industry, it does not mean that it is all fun and no work.
