Farming gold in Dota 2 games can be the deciding factor to win matches online. You can increase your gold per minute (GPM) using a variety of tactics to buy core items faster in the game. You can follow these steps to make extra gold for your favorite heroes in Dota 2.
Play with melee heroes
Melee heroes have a high attack speed. People can deal loads of damage to enemy creeps with melee heroes to increase their GPM in Dota 2 matches. Early game items like a Quelling Blade can provide bonus attack damage to heroes while hitting creeps in lanes to earn gold. You can purchase a Quelling Blade for 100 gold as soon as you spawn. Melee heroes get an additional 8 damage from a Quelling Blade, making it more effective in battles than on ranged heroes.
It can be easier to target enemy creeps with low health using melee heroes. You can level up skills like Berkserker’s Rage for Troll Warlord to drastically increase your base attack time. Troll Warlord gets a 20% chance to Ensnare enemy units for 2 seconds by maxing out Berserker’s Rage. He can also use Whirling Axes with melee attacks to deal 200 damage to all enemy units around him in a radius of 450.
Alchemist is an exceptional melee hero to gain more gold. You can pour Acid Spray with Alchemist to deal up to 40 damage per second (DPS) to enemies for 15 seconds. Enemy creeps and heroes fighting within the Acid Spray have their armor reduced by 6, allowing Alchemist and his allies to get kills with fewer attacks in Dota 2.
The passive ability, Greevil’s Greed, provides bonus gold per kill to Alchemist. Each creep killed by Alchemist adds 2 gold and can be stacked multiple times to increase your GPM. Alchemist can turn on his ulti, Chemical Rage, to gain bonus attack speed and health regeneration. Chemical Rage lasts for 30 seconds and has a cooldown of 60 seconds. You can use Chemical Rage in your lane to amplify the damage dealt to enemy units to earn gold.
Take the mid lane
Mid lane can help players level up faster and destroy more creeps. It is the most suitable lane to increase your GPM. Heroes like Lina, Juggernaut, and Sniper can nuke enemy units with their abilities to gain more gold in Dota 2 games. You can cast Dragon Slave with Lina to deal 300 damage to enemy creeps in the mid lane. Dragon Slave has a cooldown of 8 seconds, letting her mitigate dozens of enemy creeps. You can purchase an Arcane Boots for mid lane heroes to provide 250 mana. Arcane Boots can help you get easy kills without running out of mana during battles.
Abilities like Laguna Blade can be used to deal 900 magical damage with one spell. You can reach level 6 before the game hits the 10-minute mark in the mid lane to unlock your ultimate. A combination of Dragon Slave and Laguna Blade can scorch enemies within seconds to earn bonus gold. Lina can also decrease the cooldown of Dragon Slave by 3.5 seconds at level 10 through the Talent Tree.
Juggernaut is a fine example of a mid lane hero in Dota 2. You can max out Blade Fury for Juggernaut in the mid lane to deal 165 DPS to enemy units near him. Blade Fury lasts for 5 seconds and increases the magic resistance of Juggernaut by 80%, making him stronger against enemy heroes in team fights. You can use Blade Fury in the mid lane to clear waves of enemy creeps with Juggernaut. People can summon a Healing Ward to restore health to Juggernaut and his allies to survive longer.
Hit neutral creeps
Neutral creeps can be found all over the map in Dota 2. These creatures can be attacked to earn bonus gold. Support heroes in your team can stack neutral creeps together to provide more gold for their core players. Carry heroes can take out stacked neutral creep camps with their abilities to boost their GPM.
Items like a Hand of Midas can be vital to earn more gold. You can gain 40 attack speed with Hand of Midas to destroy neutrals in the jungle. Hand of Midas costs 2200 gold in the game. It enables heroes to use Transmute to instantly vanquish neutrals to provide bonus gold and experience. Nature’s Prophet can use Hand of Midas after converting trees to treants. He can attack neutrals while standing behind treants to earn more gold without getting hit by creeps. Treants have 550 health and deal 39 damage per attack. The increased attack speed from Hand of Midas can help Nature’s Prophet crush neutral creeps.
You can buy a Maelstrom to destroy neutral creeps faster. Maelstrom grants people 24 attack damage. It can be bought for 2700 gold. Heroes with a Maelstrom in their inventory have a 30% chance to release a bolt of lightning that deals 135 damage to multiple enemy units. Neutral creeps can be obliterated with a few attacks by purchasing a Maelstrom in Dota 2. Maelstrom can be upgraded to Mjollnir for bonus attack speed during battles.
